Summary

When a snowstorm sneaks up, she gets stranded with the handsome man who once arrested her。 Will he be able to forgive her when the truth comes out?

Lyric Woods has been sober for years now, but nothing about picking herself up from rock bottom has been easy。 She’s behind on bills and on the verge of getting evicted, still paying for the mistakes of her past。 When she is stranded with the deputy who doesn't remember her, she gets a second chance at a first impression。

Asa Scott isn’t complaining about being stranded with the beautiful Lyric。 The kind woman tending his wounds after a wreck in the storm is the first to make him think he could move on after his wife’s death。 But when he finds out about her record, he can't reconcile the woman from the past with the woman who cared for him at the cabin。

When Lyric needs his help after they’re rescued, Asa treads carefully。 Helping her is fine—letting her into his life and trusting her near his son is another story。

Despite his fears, Asa can’t fight the way he feels about the resilient woman who helped him。 But when it looks like Lyric has fallen back into her old ways, will Asa trust the evidence or believe the woman he’s falling for and fight to clear her name?

If you loved the Blackwater Ranch series and the Wolf Creek Ranch series, get ready to fall in love all over again in Blackwater, Wyoming。

You wrote a story that swept me away from the first chapter, hooked me throughout the rest of the book, and made me feel all of the feels! I truly loved this story of redemption! You follow Lyric, a woman with a troubled past who has worked hard towards the renewal she desperately needs in life。 Right when things seem to be falling apart for her, she saves Asa from a wild snow storm。 Luckily, her and Asa are stuck staying at a beautiful cabin, fully stocked with food, and a generator。 It seems like a fairy tale dream, being locked away from the world with an attractive and kindhearted guy。 Except when she realizes that Asa is the cop who has arrested her before。Feelings are developed quickly however Lyric holds back until she can’t keep the secret to herself anymore。 Right as their relationship could begin to develop, her past yet again steals away her pursuit of joy。 How could a cop have a romantic relationship with a recovering addict? However Jesus can do anything! He can take ashes and turn it into beauty and that’s exactly what happens within this story。 With some breath hitching suspense and drama along the way, that gives you such a ride while causing your heart to swoon! This book earned the 5 stars rating and it probably one of my top favorite Mandi Blake Stories。 If you haven’t checked her out yet, please do! Her Christian romances pack a bunch of emotions that make for a wonderful reading experience。 。。。more

This was a beautifully written, faith inspired romance。 I loved the forced proximity of the first part of the book - and then watching them navigate their lives after the snowstorm made them more tangible in my mind。 Mandi includes a few surprise twists that keep you guessing throughout!!I cannot wait to read the next installment in this series 💙

Lyric meets Asa again but he doesn't recognize her。 What will she say when he realizes he once arrested her? I enjoyed my ARC of this book。 People deserve second chances especially when they have stayed out of trouble for 5 years。 Asa likes her but can he trust her to stay sober if they become a couple? He has a son to consider。 A clean romance about second chances。 I received an ARC from the author。 Lyric meets Asa again but he doesn't recognize her。 What will she say when he realizes he once arrested her? Good readI read the original version of this story and I liked it。 This extended version is a lot better。 You get to know Asa and Lyric in a more in-depth way that makes their story even more terrific。 I would recommend this story to any reader that enjoys clean stories with lots of depth。

Love in the Storm by Mandi Blake is an adorable Christian romance that will warm your heart。 Set in a snowy Wyoming town, this story features Lyric, a recovering addict and alcoholic, and Asa, a stalwart police officer。 The pair is trapped together during a blizzard, and while attracted to each other, Lyric’s past, which includes run-ins with the law, looms between them。Blake weaves a magical tale of redemption as Lyric and Asa figure out if they can be together despite Lyric’s past。 However, it Love in the Storm by Mandi Blake is an adorable Christian romance that will warm your heart。 Set in a snowy Wyoming town, this story features Lyric, a recovering addict and alcoholic, and Asa, a stalwart police officer。 The pair is trapped together during a blizzard, and while attracted to each other, Lyric’s past, which includes run-ins with the law, looms between them。Blake weaves a magical tale of redemption as Lyric and Asa figure out if they can be together despite Lyric’s past。 However, it’s sometimes a bit too magical: the climax is a bit anticlimactic because there’s never a sense that their relationship is in danger because of what we see through Asa’s perspective in those pivotal scenes。 The entire story is as sweet as the s’mores Blake suggests the reader eat in Chapter 14—she includes a snack and mood list in the beginning of the book。 A tiny glitch that caught my eye was in the scene where Asa wakes up and sees light in the sky, and he is told that it is four in the morning; however, a few months later, it’s still dark at six am。 Other than that, the story is beautifully written, and it is also perfectly polished from a proofreading perspective。 。。。more

An inspirational story…Mandi Blake knows how to capture the reader’s attention from the start。 The opening scenes were perfect to set the stage for Asa and Lyric to begin to build a foundation of trust, friendship and attraction。 Each had reasons to step into a relationship cautiously despite the ease of which they felt comfortable in each other’s company。 Could their encounter still become something more outside of their forced, snowed-in experience together, when they would again need to cope An inspirational story…Mandi Blake knows how to capture the reader’s attention from the start。 The opening scenes were perfect to set the stage for Asa and Lyric to begin to build a foundation of trust, friendship and attraction。 Each had reasons to step into a relationship cautiously despite the ease of which they felt comfortable in each other’s company。 Could their encounter still become something more outside of their forced, snowed-in experience together, when they would again need to cope with daily challenges, self-doubts and unexpected events? This is a wonderful story with well-developed characters that you fall in love with。 It shows the struggle that people have moving forward with their lives when the past continues to haunt them – whether from poor choices or the loss of loved ones。 It is a clean, sweet love story that reminds us to stop second guessing how others feel and to allow others to show that they care and are supportive。 When you focus on your heart’s desire (not your “monkey” mind) and strive towards achieving it, good things with come to you。 I enjoyed the complexities and honesty of the story and the people involved and, of course, how everything turned out…I received and arc and this is my honest and voluntary review。 。。。more

I even met new friends there! 。。。more

He complemented Lyric so well and it was easy to see how her character found safety and comfort from him。 Lyric admittedly was not my favorite character, but I admired her strength to change and overcome her past and how committed she was to Asa and his family。 Lyric and Asa definitely had a few obstacles to overcome, but it was great to see their devotion to each other not waiver in spite of some difficult circumstances。 I was excited to see that the next book in the series is about Dawson! He was such a fun character and I can’t wait for his story! 。。。more
